Summer of the Monkeys will be read aloud as soon as I can find my copy. I am realizing that while we have read a tremendous amount to the kids, for many of the books, Levi was too little to remember or fully appreciate. So when we were talking about our favorite books and I mentioned this Wilson Rawls book, he asked me what it was about.
I am looking forward to reading it again. It is one of my very favorite children's books. When we rented the movie of this book to watch and it was apparent in the first 5 minutes that the producers had tampered with the storyline, I turned it off. It is too good of a story to ruin with a hollywood-ized movie. DON'T WATCH THE MOVIE. READ THE BOOK.
