The House with a Clock in its Walls

When I was in 5th grade, my teacher read aloud to our class "The House with a Clock in its Walls" by John Bellairs . It scared me to death but I was afraid to tell my parents about it because I thought they might complain about the book to the teacher. I don't remember any details of the plot, but I recently found a copy of it at Goodwill. I bought it and have decided to read it and see what scared me so much.

I'll review it here when I am done. I told my kids the story about it scaring me and not telling my parents so they want to read it (of course). But I will read it first and make that decision. One interesting bit of trivia, a friend a church told me she grew up near the house this book was based.
