The state of Oregon is celebrating its 150th birthday this year and to commemorate this event, we are going to plan a summer trip around the state visiting important, interesting, and historic locations. I am going to let the kids map out the trip, research the sites we will visit, and budget our expenses. I have two books I am reading that I got from my dad to get us started: Great and Minor Moments in Oregon History and Oregon 1859: A Snapshot in Time.
If anyone has a recommendation for a must-see site in our state, let me know. Feel free to recommend places to eat as well as places to stay if you have any.
